Mining Company Tarkwa, Current Opening For Chemist Ghana JOB SUMMARY Company     Confidential Industry     Mining Category     Mining/Petrol… Location     Tarkwa Job Status     Full-time Salary     Attractive Education     BSc Experience     1 years Job Expires     22 Aug, 2012 Job Description The chemist shall be responsible but not limited for efficient and effective management of the Analytical Laboratory to:- Co-ordinate all the analytical activities of the company; Utilizing specialist knowledge and experience in solving problems in the laboratory ; Provide technical services in maintaining high analytical standards for the company; Establish and maintain amicable and constructive team working relationships; Carrying out formal and informal coaching and mentoring of assigned subordinates ; Overseeing the analytical processes to support the company achieve its set goals and objectives; Ensure that systems, practices, methods and procedures in place are maintained; Ensure the quality of results produced are in line with Company’s and Clients expectations; Review the results and qualitative assessment of their correctness. Referral of any samples or standards not compliant with expectation for repeat analysis; Work in accordance with the rules, procedures and methods detailed in the quality documentation to ensure the correctness of the end product; Maintain an adequate supply of critical consumables and spare parts to ensure continuity of business; Where appropriate make recommendations to the Chief Chemist and Laboratory Manager regarding equipment or method changes and upgrades; Perform any other ad-hoc duty that may be assigned by superior Required Skills or Experience Key Requirements: The successful applicant must possess degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Engineering and Biochemistry; Must be computer literate – MS Office Suite High level of attention to details; High and unwavering housekeeping and operation conformance standards; Highly motived with high desire to achieve; Actively manages safety with view of achieving zero harm to employees, visitors, and the environment. Knowledge in Fire Assay will be an added advantage
